What it means
Contraction of 'isn't it', used as a tag on any statement regardless of the grammar of the sentence it follows.
Standing alone: an emphatic agreement, roughly 'exactly'.
In use
It's freezing out, innit.
You went all that way for nothing, innit.
Note: Grammatically the tag should be 'didn't you'. innit has replaced the whole system of tag questions for many speakers.
